Ahmond is a singer-songwriter and instrumental composer. He has released a self-produced album called A Boy You Once Knew and most recently a quirky EP of rock songs titled Monster & Minstrel. .... His music has been compared to David Bowie, Morrissey, Cat Power, Keane, and The New Bohemians..... The last track on his debut album was played on the first season of the HBO series Rome..... The music is a balance of pop and edgy experimentation. Ahmond will go from crooning to screeching in one breath without the music ever feeling unapproachable..... Prior to Ahmond devoting nearly all of his time to music, he was featured in movies and commercials. He played Diahann Carol and Ruby Dee's great-grandnephew in the movie Having Our Say. At that time, he was also acting and working as a musical director for a theatre group formed to raise awareness about HIV, violence, and other social issues. After leaving the theatre group, he packed one bag and a guitar and left the States to travel around Europe, playing in pubs and on street corners where he honed his skills..... Presently, Ahmond is planning a US tour in the fall of 2010. -

Hello Mr. Ahmond ;-) I've been meaning to write for awhile, but alas, life and age takes its toll..
Wanted to say how much I enjoy and respect your musical efforts! You have seemingly a somewhat different perspective as you write the lyrics, and your voice is suits and is a good tone to compliment those lyrics.
All of the songs stand out in a different way...."A Boy You Once Knew" grabs the attention immediately with the acoustic and the gentle voice with lyrics that are poignant. Remembering...
"Everything Eden" - this one is where I enjoy the timing, the punctuating style of the voice, and the strings...cohesive.
"Go To Africa" - an upbeat number which being well played acoustically is complimented by the rhythmic overall pace and lyric content once again.
Of course "The Forgotten Realm" is cool, again, your voice is uplifted and uplifting, and the lyrics of a wise perspective. The strings often add alot to your tunes!
"Collision" is again sort of a combo of haunting and rhythmic pace which is different and enjoyable.
"Leo and the Nightcrawlers" is one fave of mine to sing to...a guilty pleasure when I'm alone ;-) ...'I could tie you down with your mother's apron strings...' , like that lyric! Your voice sure is of a good tone here! And from the same album, another with lyrical wisdom and maybe experience, is "It's Not Wasted"....a bit too close to home for some, but a good message...life as learning and we make the best choice we can at the time, sort of finishes, to me with a feeling of uplifted optimism for continuing on the journey in whatever form...
Others I enjoy are, well all, but Thundershoes and Those Damn Things I return to.
Well, there it is. Congrats on your talent, hope you get lots of notice and success, but you are one in any case. Cheers!
