lot of bands on my space with absolutely no sense of perspective, Do you think if you send constant appeals to view, share, hear or buy your music, they will be inerpreted as a up and coming artists wanting to do good? I realize this is the case, but most folks find it a constant source of aggravation to get so many requests daily from so many bands asking for just one play or view.
We avoid sending mass emails, because we know they do more harm than good for all!!
If you think about it is it not better to have friends and fans talking you up rather than just the band talking itself up? (yes)
try working in the real world, playing gigs locally in your area, build a following that talks about you and helps spread the word!!
Do not worry if your music is good, you will find a crowd that likes it!! Keep Pushing on, just avoid shooting yourself in the foot with mass emails!!
One day you truly might have some great news to share, so save your emails for that day, or you may find no one opens it because of your constant past emails!!
Remember Musicians are Musicians not Beggars!!
if you have to Beg, re evaluate your music and direction!
Realizing this will fall on so many deaf ears I send it anyway in the hopes 1 real musician might get the real gist of this, and save themselves from themselves! -

BROKEN ROCK CITES ANOTHER HILLBILLY STAR SUCH AS COLT FORD AS THEIR PRIMARY INPSIRATION, FOR GETTING MOTIVATED TO ATTACK THE MUSIC BUSINESS FROM A WHOLE DIFFERENT ANGLE! BY LETTING THE PEOPLE DECIDE WHATS GOOD!!

at Well this week has been one, I have often dreamed of yet, never seen! 14,569 people viewed our songs this past week, we have had 1,320 new friends this week, we went to number 1 on the reverbnation chart this morning for Country Music in our area and broke into the top 10 for all genres of music in our area!! Not to shabby for a hillbilly!
We broke into the top 900 range nationwide on the same chart.
Broken Rock would not be in this position if it were not for the friends/fans who have showed up in number and strength!!
The greatest satisfaction a songwriter can recieve is warm accolades from regular folks!! Our music, and songs mean nothing, unless they mean something to you!! I attempt to write songs that we all relate to easily! it is the songs themsleves you will always see first and foremost of BROKEN ROCK.
EGO'S DO NOT EXIST WITHIN BROKEN ROCK!!
The important thing is always you guys! and the songs themseleves!! That's why we have a trademark, or a brand, because when you see that broken rock horse you will know good music comes from it! We are not gonna pose and posture in fancy pictures! We are not gonna blast our friends constantly with hey buy this, or hey buy that!
My Theory is simple and always has held the Ideal if I can write songs good enough, people will want them without me or a team attempting to convince you you just cannot live without it!!
I don't like pressure sales crap, and I honestly dont think anyone does!!
I do not appreciate constant posts from any artists bigtime or smalltime who spam you with sales pitches!! I guess they forget that if you really like there music, and you can afford it, you will most likely end up with it in your cd player!!
We are waiting on a release date from Itunes for the 1st CD. I expect it will be here within a couple more weeks. When that day arrives I guarantee you, there will be a post each day for a few days that they are available, but Broken Rock will never go on the Sales Pitch trail as many do!
Kevin Cronin of REO SPEEDWAGON once told me you have to be a band about the songs!! not about the image of a rock star, because if we are lucky all we ever get is a fleeting glimpse at big opportunity! If we choose to party like a rock star it will be short lived and go down in flames! But if we are about the song itself and the power of the message it provides, we will always stay grounded!! Bottom line it's about the songs themselves, and the people who appreciate them!!
14, 659 of you fine wonderful people made your voice heard this week to me! I thank you so much for appreciating our music! It does not get any better than that!
