Darker Half is a melodic metal band from Sydney, Australia.
Darker Half’s sound is rooted in traditional metal while drawing on other influences both metal and otherwise to create a unique, energetic and heavy sound. Twisted dual guitars and explosive solos riff across a rock solid yet inventive rhythm section, topped off by a vocalist whose range can match any of rock’s greats, making this a band who can really set themselves apart.

Darker Half released their debut album ‘Duality’ in 2009 and after national tours supporting Paul Di’anno (ex-Iron Maiden) and US metal legends Queensryche, regional/interstate headlining tours and an appearance at Screamfest 2009/10 at the Enmore Theatre along with Edguy, Sonata Arctica, Dark Funeral and more, established themselves as one of Australia’s premiere metal acts. Darker Half continued to tour relentlessly in 2010 hooking up once again with Paul Di’Anno on his return tour. Later that year, the band went into Defwolf Studios in January 2011 to record their second album ‘Desensitized’ and signed Australian deals with Rockstar Records and MGM Distribution for the release. The band then embarked on an Australian tour in support of the new album which saw them return to interstate capital and regional centres. Over the following 2 years the band toured Australia multiple times over scoring support spots with Alestorm, Children Of Bodom, Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper, Onslaught, Lionsheart) and many more to rave reviews.

2013 heralded a new year for Darker Half as they continued to blaze a trail of live assaults. Once again the band hit the road again multiple times over on headline tours as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Nightwish, Lord and Stratovarious amongst select festival appearances such as Neck Wreck Festival. During 2013 the band also headed back to Defwolf studios to record a brand new album.

A new dawn has arrived and a new album is on its horizon... Watch this space!
