This is a photo of Madam Tussaud's new wax Beatles figures. They are a big improvement over the ones that I saw in NYC. Last I heard, they were "on tour" in Las Vegas. I hope they end up the Big Apple.

At least now they can talk about their wives instead of it being kept a secret. I recently saw a film where John was complaining that being in The Beatles was often a humiliating experience. In the quest for fame they were sometimes treated like circus animals. I knew many Beatles photos had their cigarettes airbrushed out, but I never knew that they also airbrushed out their wives.
I went into NYC yesterday and saw the Space Shuttle flyover the city and the Hudson River. It was a pretty cool sight but it was extremely windy day.

The Music of Lennon & McCartney forever set the standard for songwriting in today's modern popular music, in my opinion (Critics will agree). It was something magical and a contrast, however, the two came together and gelled perfectly. One (McCartney) with tender heartfelt lyrics and the other (Lennon) with creative and sometimes quirky lyrics. The message behind the music was one of love and peace for the most part. It was sometimes a sublte loftiness to the message/lyrics. The Mighty George Harrison lent his amazing guitar skills which created some of the most recognizable intros, riffs & solos in music today. God Bless he and John.

About me:
I am a retired teacher, moved imediately to Nova Scotia 4 years ago, and since bought a condo in Ottawa where our son is living presently. Retirement gives freedom to travel, so I am often found at the sea, or at the lake, or at my childrens' homes, sometimes at my Mom's home.....including a yearly holiday in a hot place (own a little mobile in Florida)....and the draw of Europe pulls my husband and me there too! I've loved Paul McCartney 46 for years now, and still loving my husband of 35 years. -piano player 53 years, oboe player 40 years, bagpipe player 7 years I am not very internet savvvvy, but I open all my mail, and answer when I can. Other than that, I am always looking for something interesting, and willing to learn.Who I'd like to meet:
Sir James Paul McCartney: I do have his autograph, framed on my wall, as many of us have obtained such a thing through much suffering.....and waiting..... and freezing..... and full bladders!!! Paul gives us amazing memories of which he has no idea. Even the suffering is unforgettable and a joy to recall!!!! August 8, 2010 4:45 came face to face with Paul McCartney, he was reading (actually staring at) my banner at his Toronto sound check arrival !!! The banner has hands on it, signed by fans, waiting for Paul's signature too, with the words Put it There sewn on, as a message of support like in Paul's song "....father said to his young son" and also a song request....
