Jonesy's Cow originated in March 2002 when lead singer/rhythm guitarist, Al colman and lead guitarist, Jean-Paul Burette met in the Perth Hills town of Kalamunda. After collaborating and performing locally as a duo they joined up with drummer, John Perella and, together with 'guest' musicians, they put together their first EP (Contagious), ran a local 'open Mic Night' and performed at many venues in the Perth area. The collaborative artists in this period include: Paul Muller, Richard 'Sticks' Hammer (drums), Steve King, Elliott McCann (bass guitar), Tom Aamott (lead guitar) Esko Hiilinen (harmonica),Tom Taimre( vocals and percussion) Rob Steele(mandolin)and Hassan Youssef (egyptian tabla). The bands blend of blues/folk/rock originals and covers has seen them play at such places as The Last Drop Tavern, Forrestfield Tavern, BushShack Brewery, Hainault Winery and Araluen Blues Festival 2004-2006.
