apologies for the quality of the myspace player (even though it's not my fault). the Apricot Rail remix in particular does not usually sound that bad (i swear!).
If you would like a proper version of this, head to hiddenshoal.com
Should you want a copy of any other track, message me and i'll send you out a shiny copy!
To all of my internet social networking imaginary friends
As you have probably realised, this is my first blog, after having this page for around 3 years. Pretty lazy, huh? Well, you know how it is: songs to mix, essays to write, vegie gardens to attend to...
Never mind - I'll be keeping you up to date from now on as I have manage to stumble upon a number of free weeks, which happen to coincide with winter and therefore a lot of staying indoors!
I have recently upgraded my computer (finally), which has allowed me to produce and mix tracks a lot more efficiently than before. Because of this, I am currently re-mixing and re-mastering a lot of my prior myspace tracks to be put back up online in a week or two. This means a new and improved Tin Man experience!
If you have been living under a rock, my friends Apricot Rail have just released a single and album on Hidden Shoal Records. The single, Pouring Milk Out The Window, features a remix by me, which I was very happy to be working on. You can hear it here on my page, or on the Apricot Rail page. www.myspace.com/apricotrail
If you bought the single, I have updated the track and fixed a couple of things I was not entirely happy with, so the version you hear on this page is the updated version.
Another new track, Tin Man Pretentioso (an ode to Perth's fertile, yet pretentious, soundscaping scene), features such delightfully sampled ambient sounds as a kettle, a $2 Yamaha keyboard, and my cat, Pepper. I had originally named it Kettles and Cats, but I thought that was even more pretentious than the fact I recorded a kettle and a cat. Anyway, I like it, I think the ending would be great for an early morning comedown or hangover.
I am currently in the process of remaking another track - Together, They Forgot Who They Were - which is sounding MUCH better than the original version I had up here for the past 3 or 4 months.
Anyway, I'll get back to you all soon, for now enjoy the tracks, turn up the stereo and go West Coast, you bloody mob of overpampered Perthonalities.
