I'm A Cranky Old Punk From Way Back. I Hate What Corporate America Has Done To The Beloved Scene I Once Called My Own. Back Then Things Were Different. We Were Social Outcasts, Small In Numbers, And Looked Down On By Most Everyone. But, We Were True To Ourselves And Our Scene. Today, Punk Is Just A Fad. The New "Punk" Music, For The Most Part Is Shit. There Are Some Bands Out There That Are Good. But Those Are Few And Far Between. Too Often Little "Emo" And "Screamo" Bands Are Labled Punk. The Whole "Punk Fashion" Shit Has Gone OverBoard. You Can Walk Into Almost Any Store And Buy Your Quasi Studded Belts And Wrist Bands. Almost Every JackAss Sports Some Type Of MoHawk Or Faux Hawk Because He's "Cool". The Patches And Pins Of The Old Punk Bands That These Kids Wear..... Shit, 4 Out Of 5 Of These Kids Have Never Heard That Music. They Thought The Shit Looked Cool, Or They Saw Someone Else Wearin' Em'. Now Don't Get Me Wrong, There Are Some True Punks Out There. I Wasn't The First And I Won't Be The Last. But The Shit Is Watered Down. I Just Can't Wait Until The Next Fad Comes Around. Then Mabey, The Scene Will Return. I Remember A Quote From Back In The Late Eighties Thats An Appropriate Closer For My Little Rant Here; "Punk Is An Attitude. Not A Style."
