  • Biografia

    Midnight Son and The Crime Scene were definitely swimming against the tide when they emerged from a crowded Brisbane music scene in early 2011. Brisbane has always had great musicians, mostly alternative rock and indie bands, so playing country music in the city seemed a little out of place. Forging an original alternative country sound, Midnight Son and The Crime Scene quickly evolved into a valid part of the Australian musical landscape delivering credible and engaging performances in and around Queensland. Over the course of only a year and a half, one Ep, countless memorable live shows and enough personal drama to fill a couple of 'Behind the Music' episodes, this beloved band of cowpokes now find themselves in the studio recording their first Lp. Formed by Michael Pearson in late 2010, The Crime Scene's original members all came from a variety of local bands toiling away in the hyperactive local club scene at the time. Prolific and highly motivated, the band amassed a staggering number of original songs in a very short time, culminating with a self-released eponymous debut Ep (Dig Deep) in July 2011. After a tumultuous period that found the band actively seeking a permanent drummer, Midnight Son and The Crime Scene kept the gigs up and the crowd's happy. It seemed near impossible to find a capable percussionist until Michael met Jerome Power, a beat legend from North Queensland. The Band was now set with Michael Errol Pearson on Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Paul Heinemann on Bass, Jerome Power on Percussion, and Tommy Wassmann on Lead Guitar. Midnight Son and The Crime Scene display passion and vision for their music with a solid reputation as a must see live band and a force to be reckoned with.

    Alright, Midnight Son and The Crime Scene are back for 2012. The last few months, Errol Ray Jr was gigging through Japan as well as Australia. The Son are back with NEW Lead Guitarist Tommy Weismann, and are sure gonna kick it. Mickey Riff will be playing some Pedal Steel and The Crime Scene's Jerome and Paul have the backline ripped and roaring to go.

    Alright, well The Grassroots Festival has just finished and Midnight Son and The Crime Scene are back in the recording studio to finish recording what we believe is going to be one hell of a brilliant single to hit Australia.

    Hey fellow music lovers, I am puttin on a little howdown in the Valley in early September. So far what we have is 3 local bands, all country - 1 classic, 1 modern and 1 outlaw, a local country music dj, a country and western clothing stall, a western film showing, and a local animator doing a short western film. It really should be pretty awesome.

    It will be plugged pretty heavily on 2 radio stations and 4 websites with posters and flyers around town. Let me know if you are still interested. Love to talk about it with you.
