Thought about it and have decided the phrase I hate more than any other is "mash-up".

Bio:

I am Matt Ingram; a musician, producer and improper inserter of the semi-colon. I mostly play the drums and record stuff at Urchin Studios with Dan Cox. As a musician I have recorded and/or toured with people such as Jeremy Warmsley, The Red Krayola, Emmy The Great, Paloma Faith, Ian Astbury, Cerys Matthews, Fyfe Dangerfield and Laura Marling.

The tunes on this page were all recorded and performed by me at my studio.

Being a bit of a dork and general saddo, Drums Mash is the kind of thing I do for recreation. For those of you reading who have an interest in audio engineering, the drums were recorded using a single Audio Technica AT4033 into an api 3214 preamp through an Empirical Labs Distressor (med-quick attack on a ratio of 6:1). For those interested in drum matters, the snare is 70’s Rogers Dynasonic with a Remo Ambassador drumhead tuned low and with a packet of 20 Malboro Lights gaffered on top. And for those reading with an interest in fashion, at the time of recording I was wearing a semi bespoke two-piece English cut single-breasted suit by Jasper Littmen of Saville Row in charcoal grey (with plain, non-pleated trousers).

Feed The Birds was recorded at the studio on a rainy Monday when there was nothing better to do. The song was written by Mary Poppins and was first performed in a children’s bedroom as a means of frightening them so they’d calm down and fall asleep. It is one of my favourite songs and I look forward to the day when I can frighten my own children with this rendition.

Bizhet was written and performed by me. I don’t play the guitar very often so the “solo” section not only took me 23 takes but really hurt the fingers of my left hand. It should also be noted that the lyrical content of this piece is complete drivel and is just the phrase “I’m a steamroller baby yeah. See how I shake,” repeated over and over.

Queens is the creation of my alter-ego Eppy and was recorded using only an SM58, my voice and good deal of messing around (see the Eppy myspace for more).

For Dah I had this urge to create a kind of end-of-the-evening-Tom-Waits-sleaze-instrumental. What came out though is much more Elton-does-a-show-tune. This is fine as I’m a fan of both. ..
