Formed in 2010, Mustered Courage was born to bridge a gap between traditional bluegrass music and the Australian alternative music scene. Two long term friends and musical associates formed the group to write and produce a record that would develop a sound that blends modern song writing traits with the instrumentation and energy of traditional bluegrass music. Only one year since the group's formation, Mustered Courage is ready to release their sophisticated debut mini-album to the world. In July, the "On the Run Tour" will take the band on a run of shows through VIC, NSW and ACT to promote the release of the first single. "On the Run" has already pricked up the ears of several key industry folk with a demo of the song getting the band on the bill for the infamous APOLLO BAY FESTIVAL 2010, making grand finalist in the Darebin Song Writing Competition and sparking interest from a few major music publishers. Formed in 2010, Mustered Courage was born to bridge a gap between traditional bluegrass music and the Australian alternative music scene. Two long term friends collaborated with the goal to create a record blending modern song writing with the instrumentation and energy of traditional bluegrass music. Only one year since the group’s formation, Mustered Courage is ready to release their unique debut album to the world. Rough demos from the forthcoming album were enough to catch the attention of Laughing Outlaw Records. The band has now penned a deal with the record label and will be releasing the self-titled album in September 2011.
