My MySpace Account Has Been Reinstated
YAY!
Well thanks to @MSC Page on Twitter and his inside contact at MySpace, my account seems to have been fully reinstated, which is amazing.
So, I got a lotta catching up to do to reply back to your comments.
I want to urge all of you artists out there who are using ReverbNation FanReach Sync to either not use it until they fix this crazy issue with the spam/junk algorithm or be forewarned that use of it is possibly hazardous to your account and good standing with My Space.
This is an interesting tool, but it needs some major, major tweaks if it is to truly benefit artists.
Have a super day.

The Continuing Saga MySpace and ReverbNation Tool Killed my MySpace Account...
So here is an update... this is the latest email I got from MySpace "Support":
Thanks for contacting Myspace.
Please read the following very carefully as it gives detailed information on the issue you are experiencing:
Our system detected that many users marked either your friend requests, messages, comments, or event invites as spam. When this occurred, one or more of these types of communications sent by you automatically began routing to junk folders. Furthermore, your ability to post comments has been disabled. Since this is an automated process, we are unable to reverse it manually.
On a more specific note, the message with subject: "Do you still want Natalie Brown updates? If so, re-opt in to the list." has been marked as spam by hundreds of its recipients. While we are unable to provide any additional information regarding the antispam tactics and technology used we bring this up to provide insight to how the recipients view the correspondence.
In order to resolve the issue and return your profile to normal, the following must happen:
- Users must visit their "Junk Mail" folder and select your messages/event invites and click the "Move to" drop down and then click "Move to Inbox"
You may also want to review your profile’s layout, as content on your profile may also contribute to your spam reputation. Such content includes any URLs, links or image hosts you might have posted on your profile.
Keep in mind that any user can perform the previously mentioned actions and it is NOT a requirement for the same users who marked you as 'spam' to move your messages by selecting 'Move to Inbox'. Current friends are more likely to help out, so you may even want to send them a message followed up with a bulletin or a stream update to let them know to check their Junk Mail folders so they can perform this action.
For security reasons we cannot advise you as to how many messages must be "Moved to Inbox," but the issue should be resolved as soon as a significant number of users complete the above actions.
As a side note, if you were using an unauthorized, automated form or program to add friends or send messages on Myspace, we suggest that you disable it as it violates our Terms of Use. You can read the terms at http://www.myspace.com/help/terms. If you would like to promote yourself on a large scale to a specific target audience, check out MyAds, located at http://..com.
Thank you for your continued patience. We’re here to help. If this has not completely answered your question, please respond to this email with the steps you have taken to resolve the issue and we’ll take another look.
Sincerely,
The Myspace Support team

So they expect me to communicate with people to ask them to UnJunk my email now.... when they have TAKEN AWAY my ability to COMMUNICATE with people. Wow, Smart MySpace... smart.... And again, I must reiterate... THEY ENABLED THE USE OF THIS TOOL ON MY MUSIC ACCOUNT!
I sent a message to ReverbNation on Twitter and they replied to me, so let's see if we can get this resolved in a good way ASAP. At least I have more faith in ReverbNation support because they have real, live human beings working there!
I'll keep you posted.

Why you won't get a comment back from me (MySpace and ReverbNation’s fault)
Hey everyone!
As you know if you have been friends with me here for any amount of time, I always try to reply back to your comments and messages to me. I can't anymore because MySpace has blocked me from being able to do these functions.
Here's the story...
A few weeks ago, I enabled something called Fan Reach Sync via ReverbNation. A very short time ago MySpace and FanReach entered into a partnership together that was SUPPOSED to help artists on MySpace. Instead it has done just the opposite and has become a NIGHTMARE.
When I synchronized my last few newsletters using this tool, they went out to my opt in mailing list and also to my entire friend list here at MySpace. Now I'm sure many of you know that people add to your friends list so that they can get numbers up (that has been a practice for many years by MySpace Music users - one that I have always disliked). Because I could never know who was legit and who was not, I accept everyone who sent a friend request, so there are lots of people on my 'friend list'. Anyway, long story short, this Synching of the email pissed people off and they flagged me for spam it seems and now I am blocked from sending comments or replying to comments or status updates here at MySpace.
I don't think this is my fault. MySpace and ReverbNation entered into a deal which enabled this feature on my account, and now because I used the feature THEY PROVIDED to me, I am blocked. I think that's pretty effed up.
So anyway, come join me at Twitter, Facebook or YouTube since I can communicate with you there properly.

I will not delete my profile, but I won't be using it very much since it's basically unusable thanks to MySpace and ReverbNation. If they do fix my issue, then great, I’ll reply to you again. But to be honest it seems MySpace uses automated bot message replies and I have no idea if my communication is going to a real human being.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Peace,
Nat
