.. ............Myspace Layouts.. - ..Myspace Editor.. - ..Image Hosting.... ..I have been writing songs since 2003 and have had considerable success with my songs, winning awards in the ..TSA Songwriting Awards, the Tas & NZ Songwriting Awards.., and taking out the..2006 Queensland Champion of Champions Songwriting Award... In January 2008 one of my songs, .."Waiting for the Rain".. was recorded by Bush Balladeer ..Julie Perandes... The album, called .."Waiting for the Rain".. has been recorded by Lindsay 'Waddo' Waddington from Kross Kut Records..... Apart from my solo gigs, I currently play in a duo called .."Picks 'n Bows".. with my sister, Patricia Searle. We play mostly originals (mine) plus some covers of the Cox Family, Allison Krauss, Karen Lynne... .. Another great love in life is travel. I have already travelled fairly extensively, but there is still much more in this beautiful world to see. I want to go to Vietnam next, then the south-eastern portion of US (Kentucky, Carolina, Georgia), then I want to live in a stone farm house in the south-west of France for a few months, and live in Italy for a few months too. As Picks ' n Bows, we try to just sound like ourselves however because we are not big voiced, we tend to sing Cox Family and Allison Krauss type songs because they suit us. But mostly we do my originals which also suit us. ..We do Aussie Bush Ballads, bluegrass, folk, country and we also do weddings, funerals and baptisms, we sing at old people's homes, birthday parties, folk clubs, country music clubs. So, we are fairly versatile and just enjoy what we do.
