Original Uprise

Bio:

Original Uprise is a NSW based organisation dedicated to the promotion of Original music and the development of local musicians through intimate showcase performances.

Our aim is to help original acts with a theatrical stage from which to perform, networking opportunities and promotion through both print and electronic means. We in turn expect the artist’s to promote the gig through their networks of friends and family to ensure additional attendance for the show and to give the establishments further incentive to support the original market.

We wish to demonstrate that the original music scene is a valid and desired entertainment option. Venues are suffering from recent changes in legislation, ie smoking laws and poker machine taxes and are looking for a viable alternative to entertain their clientele and attract a new demographic.

Original musicians still exist and usually prefer to play their own tunes as opposed to someone else’s but the lack of venues is a significant barrier to most.


Through a professional approach we will provide our venues with another alternative to midi track duos. Our research has shown a clear swing back to well presented original music.

We are well on track to carve a solid and sustainable future in this dynamic Industry.
