Like the smouldering heat from a well-tended fire, the eclectic rock punk outfit known as Smoking Martha has the intensity to scorch your best shirt but the discretion to spare your eyebrows.

Born of sultry songstress Tasha D and guitarist Mick Broome's combined love of raw rock n roll and passionate music, Smoking Martha united with the help of like minded Brisbane & Gold Coast musos that have complemented their energetic electric rock style.

Since forming mid 2012 the band has played with English rock legends Uriah Heep at Eaton Hill Hotel, US veterans Everclear at Brisbane's HIFI and an impressive list of shows in iconic music venues including Brisbane's Tivoli for Metal heart festival, iconic Melbourne venues The Cherry Bar, Vineyard & the Barwon Club, Tempo, bearded lady & CrowBar & Gold Coasts Hard Rock Café, Coolangatta hotel and Miami Shark Bar. They were invited to play the Dead Of Winter Festival in 2013, the West End Boundary St Bloc Party headlining the Mollison St stage, Their highly anticipated debut EP in March 2014 to a round of a attention from media including being cited as a ‘Band to watch’ by Triple M’s Ugly Phil, and a debut on the 4ZZZ chart at No.8 and airplay on FBi, 2SER & 2RRR in Sydney, 4ZZZ & Triple M in Brisbane and many other rock & online radio stations around Australia and overseas.

Recorded at Airlock Studios with Powderfinger’s Ian Haug in the producer seat, the self-titled EP features 5 scorching tracks including the first single “Sweet As Honey” which has had airplay on rock radio shows around in Australia & the US. The band is currently working on the video for 2nd single “All Lit Up”.
