Dear Friends and music lovers.
Joe Geia & Aubrey Maher are performing a gig at the
Trades Hall
Lygon St & Victoria St
Carlton South.
FRIDAY 11th July 2009.
All proceeds will go to their Tour to Ireland July-August 2009. All because of
rejection of Tour Funding Application, and the late recieved notice. This
Friday night show will need to help them both on their International
performance.
WHY IRELAND?
Many of Aboriginal families who have seeked The Stolen Generation for
assistance of finding relatives. Have connections to this country. Results are
shown, that we are one of our words of hope, "Family".
Ireland,,, the way I see it and feel in their musical expressions and
inspirations is the Motherland of Australian Folk music. This tour will be
documentated for UK Television.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE COME BACK?
Hopefully share the connections we've made on tour with our friends and
supporters of this growing Indigenous Industry of Music. And share this lobal
opportunity, for Professional Indigenous Artists to be a International
recognition for the Aboriginal People. When you're an artist, you look for
gigs.There's people like Rhoda Roberts over there and many like John McAuslin.
Revitalise Koori Organisations like Songlines Music in Preston and make this a
National & Internationally.. renowned Organisation for Aboriginal Music.
