The Sam Houston Park experience was ruined by malfunctioning sound equipment. Despite the sound going in and out and the feedback that plagued both songs "Skin Tight" and "Jive Turkey". We decided to come off stage and allow the venues sound company to fix the problem. We arrived a day prior to the engagement so we could set the monitoring boards and the house system in preparation for a excellent show. Our sound people put in a lot of hard work and effort until 3am at the venue along with a few band members setting the boards correctly for the show. The Ohio Players are a band who plays all the music onstage with no gadgets, computers or programmed songs, The music you hear is being performed live by the musicians you see. The day of the concert to our disappointment everything had been changed ,and the venues sound people could not correct the problem. Due to technical difficulties and being unable to hear we decided not to continue the show. The Ohio Players have been performing for over 35 years and Houston has been a great market and a strong supporter of our music and we look forward to coming back once again and performing under better circumstances. The radio station and venue were aware of the problem and we will make plans to return we wish that is wasn't necessary to cancel the show, and we apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you thank you for understanding.
