I'm listening to the WHOLE motherf*cking new Kid C album on their myspazio. Because they uploaded the whole thing, because they're awesome.

Listening to ALL the Albums on my iPod in alphabetical order.
Episode 3.
So, a few days in and perhaps slighlty concerned that I'm still only up to 'A', but onwards and upwards.

Amputecture
Mars Volta.
Wow. Intense. Thankfully offsetted by the peaceful nature of quilting. I was wondering when I would be in the right mood to listen to this of my own volition. I couldn't think of a scenario, but you know, not in a bad way.

And the Glass Handed Kites.
Mew
To be honest, I didn't really absorb this. It was 8.30am, I was tired and I was trying to figure out why my coffee guy won't talk to me anymore.

Another Love Song
The Frames
"Are you sure you want to permanently delete the folder "Another Love Song"?. Yes. Ugh.

Self Titled
Antony and the Johnsons.
Ah, sweet relief and familiarity. Still trying to figure out if this dude is a hermaphrodite though, and google is remaining tight-lipped on the subject.

Aweigh With Words
Ward&Johnson
I love this album, and not just because he's my Dad and I have to say that. But because it's a big slice of '70s folk wonder. PS Dad, I'm glad you cut your hair, I mean, it looked good at the time, just not sure you could carry it off now. PPS Happy Fathers Day (again).
Goodnight, my ears and I are tired.

Part Two.
So far so good, although I'm beginning to realise that short of listening to music while asleep, this is going to take me reeeeeeally long time. But hey, it's not as crazy as that girl who only spoke in quotes for a year (she carried around a little notebook and everything, fascinating stuff). Anyway, I've had to clarify a few rules with myself. If I'm at home, just because I don't want to wear headphones, this is no excuse. Ipod is hooked up to stereo with ac cable (is that what it's called? I don't know these things). So guests are forced to go with me on this. No "mood setting" around here. If we have to make-out to Rage Against the Machine, so be it. However, if I'm in someone else's home/car/office, other non-alphabetised tunes can touch my ears, and this does not count this as cheating. I cannot make any requests whatsoever though. I was secretly totally stoked to hear Huey Lewis and the News in my friend Ru's car the other day and have since decided must buy 'best of' when I get a chance.

A Rush of Blood to the Head
Coldplay.
Ah Coldplay, making U2 fans feel uncomfortable since 1998.

Abbey Road
The Beatles.
Again? The Beatles, so soon? To be expected I suppose. Have also decided that I will always prefer Joe Cocker's version of 'She Came in Through the Bathroom Window'.

Aha Shake Heartbreak
Kings Of Leon.
Oh KOL. Back when you were firmly rooted in your Southern pocket, before you dipped the toe of your snakeskin boot into the river of alternative rock (and eventually jumped right into the river of mainstream). At least you're all still good looking.

Alphabetical
Phoenix.
This album is like kittens wearing little kitten-sized leather jackets, meowing in French and lapping at teacups full of Pimms and lemonade. I once raided a Phoenix dressing room backstage a V fest, unfortunately long after Phoenix themselves had departed. As a consolation prize I took the laptop bag Richard Branson had thoughtfully provided them and packed it with the Tooheys Extra dry they'd left behind. In my mind they'd rubbed each bottle on their Parisian chests and carefully placed them in the ice bucket just for me. Azza K, my partner in crime, told me I was a freak and took me to a party.

Alright Still
Lily Allen
Thanks to Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen can now get pissed at award ceremonies and abuse Elton John and everyone thinks it's really cute. Although the title is gramatically incorrect, I will concede that "All Right Still" probably wouldn't have worked as well.

Part One.
A couple of years ago some friends of mine started 'the shuffle club'. An organisation where the sole goal of each member was to set their ipod to 'shuffle' and make it to the end of their podded music collection. The only rule was that you couldn't skip, and fair enough - if it's good enough to upload, it's good enough to listen to. I'm not sure if any of the shuffle club members actually acheived their goal, some just couldn't take the facist nature of the tempestuous shuffle function and demanded to have their listening freedom redeemed. Others simply perished at the hands of small children who smushed the buttons once they were up to track 207 of 3885 and just didnt have the strength to go back and start again.
In the tradition of such pursuits, I am going to listen to all the albums on my iPod in alphabetical order. All the way from A Hard Day's Night through to 826 (live).
I'm keeping the non-skipping rule. Although I reserve the right to skip albums that only have one song on them. Yes, I am one of those annoying people with random one-songs, so when I have boozy gatherings someone ALWAYS exclaims 'What?! You've only got Little Red Corvette on 'The Best of Prince'? What happened to the rest of the freaking album?!' I don't know ok! I don't even know how that one song got on there in the first place. I love Prince, but who knows how these things happen.

A Hard Day's Night
The Beatles.
I'm kind of relieved that this was first. I feel like it was god/buddha/baby jesus/elvis easing me into this scheme. Also feel like too many people ignore this record and settle for the title track in some lame compilation. I used to be one of those people, but i just discovered track 6, a little known gem called Tell Me Why. It is awesome. Tell Me Why I've never heard this song before.

A Mouthful
The Do
Given this album only landed on my desk a day ago, I am suprised to hear it so soon, I feel unprepared. Anyway. It's good. Why is it that everything the French touch turns to awesome?

A Piece of What You Need
Teddy Thompson
This was one album that lost my attention fairly soon after purchasing. Though I should be commended for actually purchasing music in today's file-sharing climate yes?
