Australian singer/songwriter Jamie Hutchings grew up in Sydney, where he founded the indie rock band Bluebottle Kiss in 1993.
The band achieved success in its native country starting with its first album in 1995, but did not earn a U.S. release until its fourth album, Revenge Is Slow, in 2002. Although Hutchings' dominance of Bluebottle Kiss (he was the group's lead singer and primary songwriter) might have suggested that it served adequately as his means of artistic expression, nevertheless he launched a concurrent solo career, releasing The Golden Coach on the Australian independent label Nonzero Records. His Imaginary Choir followed on April 7, 2009. ~ William Ruhlmann
